Minor League Scorebook
Morales: 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
McPherson: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Gorneault: 1-4, 1 2B
Eylward: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Rodriguez, S: 0-2, 1 BB, 1 K
Pavkovich: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Bland: (W, 1-0), 6.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 1.50 ERA
Dallas McPherson's solo shot and a two-run jack by Adam Pavkovich provided most of the scoring in this game. The Bees scored all five runs in the first three innings; Nate Bland held down the Sidewinders to only one run. The Bees stay alive in the PCL championship series, which they now trail 2-1; Game 4 commences Saturday at 6:00 PM PDT at Salt Lake.
Phillips: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 K
O'Sullivan: (L, 0-1), 4.2 IP, 6 R, 5 ER, 9 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 9.64 ERA
Now that didn't work so well: Sean O'Sullivan imploded for six runs, five earned, over the five-run third and the one-run fourth. The Chukars' Blake Wood and Brent Fisher chucked a four-hitter. The series continues Saturday at 6:05 PDT at Orem.
Update: I'm rolling this one by hand, so bear with me, as I don't have the player-specific lines... Andy Sonnanstine struck out nine Suns and danced through eight hits over seven innings to vault the Biscuits to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five postseason. Tony Abreu, Craig Brazell, and Anthony Raglani all had two hits apiece; Tydus Meadows struck out three times, and the Suns stranded ten baserunners collectively. Scott Elbert only lasted four and a third innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on seven hits and three walks; he struck out seven.
