AFL Scorebook

News

I had a question earlier as to whether I would get the Hawaiian Winter League in the box scores. The answer is a definite maybe, as they're not necessarily recording the games completely; and in any case, with the recent earthquake, the games have all been rescheduled. More as I find it out.

Scores

2006-10-16: Scottsdale 8, Grand Canyon 9 #
Braun, R: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 2 K
Evans: 1-2, 1 K
Wilson: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Brown: 2-5
Cook, D: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Palmer: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1.93 ERA
Day: 1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Schultz, M: (BS, 1)(L, 1-1) (in relief), 0.2 IP, 4 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 6.75 ERA
More bad news for Scottsdale, who fall to 2-4 before the unbeaten Rafters, though it didn't start out that way, as the Scorpions scored five runs in the first against Royals prospect Luke Hochevar. Terry Evans (now going under the name Terry Evans, Jr. in the game log) got yanked for pinch hitter Steve Moss in the fifth; I had a friend who went to AFL over the weekend and mentioned that he thought Evans' swing was dreadful, trying to hit five-run homers and the like. Easy, big fella.

Good games from Bobby Wilson and Matt Brown.

2006-10-16: Peo Javelinas 11, Mesa 4 #
Hu, C: 0-4, 1 BB
Pence, H: 1-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI
Fox: 2-5, 1 2B
Moses: 3-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K
Raglani: 0-3, 1 BB
Martinez, F: 2-4, 1 K
Harben: 2.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 6.75 ERA
Reineke: (L, 0-1) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 15.00 ERA
Muegge: 3.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 1.50 ERA
Anthony Raglani and Chin-Lung Hu both got a walk apiece, but the Javalinas took advantage of a string of pitchers to wallop the Solar Sox. Danny Muegge did pretty well, considering.
