- World Series Game 4 has been postponed because of the rain delay. Bad weather for the other two games in St. Louis and again in Detroit make me wonder whether they shouldn't play in Arizona. Or Texas.
- Orel Hershiser will interview with the A's for their open managerial spot; my bet is on Bob Geren. More from Jon, but does it even remotely make sense that a guy who couldn't handle it when the Texas front office refused to take off the training wheels could possibly work with a superempowered micromanager like Billy Beane? That is, it's door number one, Ken.
- The Red Sox have set the bar for fading 40-year-old relievers by giving Mike Timlin a $2.8M, one-year deal. Jeff Weaver is now thinking about a Learjet as a throw-in to his next contract.
