We don't know you.
Some of us only saw what you did
late on TV
(because they didn't broadcast all the Angels games),
or not at all.
We knew it wasn't easy
but the grace and class and effortless swing
you put on the ball
onetwothreefourfive seats into the bleachers
when nobody cared
and nobody was there to fill them
will never be forgotten.
For the days I never came to the park, Timmy,
for the shattered jaw you took as an A-ball rookie
