Nats Dismiss Soriano Report
The Nationals dismissed a report saying they could not come to an agreement with Alfonso Soriano. Reports in the Dominican newspaper Listin Diario, later transmitted by the AP, claimed that Washington AGM Jose Rijo had said the Nationals wouldn't re-sign Soriano because of budget constraints, and that Soriano had turned down a 5-year/$70M deal.
