And Other Roster Notes
- Former Ranger and Padre Adam Eaton has reached an agreement with the Phillies on a three-year, $24M deal. U.S.S. Mariner likes the deal because it keeps a local kid out of circulation, "dangerous fruit where the Mariners are concerned".
- Mike Mussina of the Yankees has re-upped with the New York club to the tune of $22.5M and two years.
- The M's deal with Willie Bloomquist is actually for two years/$1,875,000 despite earlier reports of it being a one-year deal. DMZ reiterates USSM's position on Bloomquist as a solid player, but only if used from the bench. Heh.
- Former Ranger David Dellucci has signed with the Indians, according to Ken Rosenthal, for 3 years/$11.5M. A little sanity returns to the market, anyway.
Comments:
Talking about former Rangers, frankly Dellucci's three year splits are more impressive than those of Gary Matthews Jr., and Cleveland is to pay him less than a quarter of what the Angels are dishing out.
