Rosenthal: Padres Near Maddux Deal
Ken Rosenthal reports the Padres may be near to signing Greg Maddux, on a one- or two-year deal. If true, this is a huge blow for the Dodgers, who are still very iffy in their rotation; at present, that looks like Lowe, Penny, Kuo, Billingsley, and <mumble> Wolf.
Comments:
If healthy, that rotation should put them in position to win the division. But that's a huge if when it comes to Penny and Wolf.
