Matt Broderick BRO b. 1877, played 1903, d. 1940-02-26. Not that one.
Cookie Lavagetto BRO b. 1912, played 1937-1941, 1946-1947, All-Star: 1938-1941, d. 1990-08-10. A solid third baseman whom the Dodgers more or less stole from the Pirates for Ed Brandt, Lavagetto hit a walkoff double in the 1947 World Series Game 4 as his moment in the sun; it was among his last appearances in a major league uniform as a player. He later managed and coached in the majors, including a stint coaching with the Dodgers.
