Baseball America Honors Peter O'Malley
Baseball America has honored Peter O'Malley as one of the "25 for 25", the 25 most influential people in baseball during the 25 years that publication has been in business. BA cited such landmarks as the signings of Fernando Valenzuela and Hideo Nomo, and the creation of the Dodgers' Dominican academy at Campo Las Palmas, as well as the team's push to include baseball in the 1984 Olympics.
Also: Dodger broadcaster Pepe Yniguez recently lost his wife, Margarita, to cancer, first diagnosed in September last year; she was 46.
