Late Afternoon Roster Notes
- Kirk Saarloos is on the loose, as the A's traded him to Cincinnati, where he'll have a chance to grab a starting spot at the back end of their rotation. Oakland got minor leaguer David Schafer in return.
- Veteran Presence vendor Darin Erstad has a one-year deal with the Chisox.
- Update: The Dodgers have signed Fernando Tatis to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. He memorably became the first man in baseball history to hit two grand slams in one inning, in an April 23, 1999 game against the Cards; both were off Chan Ho Park.
- The Red Sox have come to an agreement with Brendan Donnelly, avoiding arbitration. He will make $1.4M on a one-year deal.
