Tommy Corcoran BRO b. 1869, played 1892-1896, d. 1960-06-25. It's hard to get a read on players of this era, but Corcoran is still in the Dodger franchise books ranking third for single-season triples (20 in 1894) and was damn near impossible to strike out (three of the top ten AB/SO seasons belong to him, as well as being sixth overall for that career rate). His B-R page claims he has a 103-year mark that still stands of 14 assists in one game by a shortstop, but I can't verify that in the Dodger media guide.
