Matheny Retires
Former Giants starting catcher Mike Matheny has retired after doctors found he couldn't shake concussion symptoms long after a May 31 game in which he took multiple foul tips off his mask. The Giants previously signed Bengie Molina to be their starting catcher this offseason. (Via BTF.)
