Why Vlad On The Basepaths Runs Like A Giraffe On An Ice Rink

Well, that explains it:
Although he sometimes appears to hobble when running, Guerrero said that does not indicate he is injured. His stride never has been smooth, he said, because his right leg is longer than his left leg.

"It's not my knee," he said. "It looks like I'm hobbling, but I'm not. I'm fine."

Vlad apparently turned down offseason arthroscopic surgery recommended for his knees by Dr. Lewis Yocum.
"It was not a case," Guerrero said, "where he said, 'You have to have it.' It was a case where he recommended doing a little cleaning. But the way I felt after the season, I decided not to. It felt pretty good. Both [knees] felt good, so really there's not much to say about it."
