Jason Schmidt To The DL
According to Inside The Dodgers, Jason Schmidt has been placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Sunday. dodgers.com has the injury as an inflamed bursa sac. There is no timetable for his return, nor any idea who will be called up in his stead; most likely Mark Hendrickson will take his place in the rotation.
SOSG quotes Dodger Thoughts commenter bhsportsguy as saying
Jason Schmidt suffered a similar issue back in 2005, he was disabled with a similar issue, he missed two weeks and still made 29 starts. He started 2004 with on the DL with a generally descrbed shoulder strain and still made 32 starts. Sounds like this is something that comes up and both Ned and Stan Conte are very familiar with it.N.b. "very familiar with" != "know how to fix".
