Smith, J: (L, 0-1), 5.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 H, 3 K, 4 BB, 1 HR, 3.38 ERA
The Bees came out on the wrong side of this pitchers' duel, with only Mike Eylward and Nick Gorneault having decent nights at the plate; Gorneault went 1-2 and reached on a hit-by-pitch and a walk. Organizational soldier Jesse Smith took the loss despite pitching five and a third innings.

Sandoval, F: 2-5, 1 RBI, 2 K
Wilson: 0-5, 1 K
Porter: 2-4, 1 RBI, 2 K

Rodriguez, R: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 1.08 ERA
Sean Rodriguez went 3-for-5 and scored a pair, and even stretched out a first-inning RBI single into a two-base error on Wichita right fielder Jorge Padilla. Curtis Pride was only 1-5 and scored a run on a balk, part of a very bad eighth for Wichita pitching that saw reliever Cody Smith drive in a run on a bases-loaded walk as well. Kyle Edens came in for the bottom of the ninth and gave up an inside-the-park home run to Chris Lubanski, but that was all the scoring the Wranglers would do.
Sutton: 0-3, 2 BB
Renz: 1-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Wipke: 0-2, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Mosebach: (L, 2-1), 4.1 IP, 8 R, 7 ER, 10 H, 1 K, 4 BB, 1 HR, 6.60 ERA
Mattison: 3.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 1.04 ERA
Yosandy Ibanez baffled the Quakes, striking out seven over six scoreless innings. The Giants, on the other hand, had no such problems reading Bobby Mosebach, who got shelled for eight runs, seven earned; the unearned run came on a throwing error from a force attempt by Mosebach in the top of the second.
Phillips: 1-5, 1 K
Pettit: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Sweeney: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 K
Conger: 2-5, 1 2B, 3 RBI
Mount: 1-5
Perez: 2-4
Herndon: (W, 2-0), 6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 H, 6 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 2.84 ERA
Browning: 0.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 7.71 ERA
Madrigal: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 3.38 ERA
Hank Conger's three RBI day was his second multi-hit game of the season. He's not hitting a lot, but he is hitting; he's only had two 0-fer games all season. In fact, he's got a seven-game on-base streak going. In addition to Conger, Matt Sweeney, Christopher Petit, and Julio Perez all had a two-hit game.
Peter Bourjos was perfect at the plate, collecting his first triple of the year and a walk.
Kenneth Herndon continued his stretch of solid outings. He has recorded three consecutive quality starts, winning two and getting a no-decision in his first, which was a two-hitter over six innings. Barret Browning was called in to face Gerardo Parra, but plunked him; he was replaced by Aaron Cook, who got Brad Miller to fly out with one on and two out. Warner Madrigal retired all three batters he faced in order.
Loney: 2-4, 1 BB
LaRoche: 1-5, 2 K
Young: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Freeman: 1-2, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB
Smith: (W, 2-1), 6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 4.41 ERA
Hoorelbeke: 0.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 6.30 ERA
An eight-run, fourth inning romp put the 51's over the top in this laugher, as highly ranked (#6 in the latest BA Prospect Handbook) Rockies pitching prospect Ubaldo Jimenez collapsed for seven runs, all earned. That inning included a grand slam by Las Vegas centerfielder Choo Freeman off reliever Mike Esposito, who didn't help matters by walking the first batter he faced, first baseman Mitch Jones.
Each of James Loney and Delwyn Young had a 2-4, Loney's larded with a walk. Travis Smith picked up the win in a good performance.
Paul: 1-4, 1 RBI, 2 K
Dunlap: 1-3, 1 BB, 2 K
McDougall: 2-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Megrew: 0-3, 1 K
Megrew: (W, 1-0), 5.0 IP, 5 R, 5 ER, 7 H, 8 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 2.65 ERA
Akin: 2.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 3.60 ERA
Meloan: 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 0.96 ERA
The Suns roared off to a 4-0 lead in the first and never looked back, thanks in part to a three-run dinger by Marshall McDougall. Jacksonville got the win despite a sub-par performance from Michael Megrew; Jonathan Meloan finished the game with a scoreless inning and two-thirds.
May: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Dewitt: 1-5
Brazoban: 1.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 3.38 ERA
McDonald: 5.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 6 K, 3 BB, 8.03 ERA
Troncoso: (W, 2-0) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 0.90 ERA
Yhency Brazoban's second appearance for Inland Empire. At the rate they're playing hime, you'd think they don't have much interest in him appearing at the major level. The 66ers won this one in the top of the 10th, on Lucas May's RBI double and a bases-loaded walk by Drew Locke. May also had a two-run homer in the top of the first.
Bell: 1-2, 1 BB
White, C: (L, 0-3), 6.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 1.98 ERA
White, G: 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 1.50 ERA
Preston Mattingly's .290/.322/.403 line with the GCL Dodgers last year didn't impress many minor league scouts, and his early sputtering this season in the Midwest League isn't helping matters: he's hitting .158/.250/.408 in 36 at bats with no walks. Cody White got tagged with the loss despite a solid outing.
