Padres' Bullpen Perfect

The Padres' bullpen has yet to give up a run this season:
“I think we all know they’re going to eventually give up a run or two. But I think over the long haul you’ll realize how talented our bullpen is. They’re going to be a big part of our success. They have high expectations for themselves of their own performance too,” he said.
Greg Maddux beat the Giants 4-0 yesterday, hurling six efficient innings on 75 pitches; the victory was the 334th in his long career. Cla Meredith, Scott Linebrink, and Doug Brocail each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

Nice rejoinder to Tony Pierce's opportunistic takedown of Garret Anderson on the MLB site today. I think you could put together a swell blogpost to dispel some of his ludicrous 'race traitor' fantasies.

Yeah, thanks for the compliment, Maxwell. I have some ideas to work into that, but it's gonna require my library at home.

Just wanted to second Maxwell. I tried to get a conversation going with my students about this. "Who's Garret Anderson?" didn't concern me as much as "Who's Jackie Robinson?"

"Who's Jackie Robinson?" Ouch. Good on you, Bruin, please edumacate these kids.
