OT: Asking For Nothing But Your Good Thoughts For Our Bad Dog

Tuesday we took our dogs to the vet to be groomed, and there they found a very unpleasant surprise on our bad dog Hannah's rump: a tumor about the size of a softball. The vet aspirated it, and, finding no pus, eliminated abcess as a diagnosis and sent the biopsy results to the lab for further evaluation.

Late last night, she couldn't lie down, and Hannah, always a very stoic animal (she doesn't even flinch when she gets shots at the vet's), was whimpering and clearly in pain. Helen took her to the emergency vet, who sedated her and gave her a local anesthetic. Once our regular vet opened up, we took her back, and the news got worse: her tumor had grown by 30% in the ensuing two days. The chances of the tumor being cancerous, and possibly metastatic, are pretty high.

They did more tests, and she'll see a veterinary specialist surgeon to remove the tumor first thing tomorrow morning, but it'll likely be into next week before we really know what we're dealing with. Send some good karma her way; she needs it.

Best wishes from here, too. Get well, Hannah!

Prayers for you and Hannah.
