Bob Timmermann On Ken Landreaux
Bob Timmermann has a fun piece on the guy who got a promotion "in the worst way" when Lyman Bostock was murdered, Ken Landreaux. Landreaux just missed playing with the Angels in 1979 when they won their first AL West title as part of the trade that sent Rod Carew to the Halos, and played with the Dodgers in their title year of 1981 and two other postseasons besides. The haunting comment about the Arizona State All-American: "We thought he'd be better than he was."
