Sapphire Bullets Of Pure Love
Because I don't have any place else to put these...
- The A's re-signed GM Billy Beane and team president Michael Crowley to seven year terms. Helps if you own a piece of the club, right Billy?
- This scouting report didn't help the Diamondbacks much against the Yanks. The Yanks swept the Snakes in the Bronx (say that five times fast) to extend their winning streak to nine games, the longest active.
- Speaking of the Snakes, the Diamondbacks optioned former Angel Alberto Callaspo to AAA Tucson, and recalled INF Augie Ojeda.
- The Cubbies did the Angels a favor and beat Seattle 5-4, taking the series in the rubber game. Oakland beat Houston 6-5 in 11 innings, with the result that both teams are five games back of the Angels, tied for second place. Texas is 17.5 games back and probably done for the year, barring the reanimation of Lefty Grove, Cy Young, and a magic potion to make Nolan Ryan three or four decades younger.
