Stop Me If You've Heard This Before: USSM Throws In The Towel
U.S.S. Mariner threw in the towel back on June 18. It strikes me as ridiculously early given that the team is now 36-32, which would make for the team's seventh-best start all-time, tied with 1996. The M's finished that season 85-76, good for second place after a suddenly hot 90-72 Texas, and only slightly off their .545 pace from their 1995, a strike-abbreviated year infamous to longtime Angels fans.
