Gwyn: (L, 1-1) (in relief), 2.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 3.10 ERA
Marcus Gwyn took his second loss of the season in a wild game where the Bees scored first and hard with a six-run second, with only one extra-base hit among the seven hits logged that inning, Kendry Morales' RBI double. Steve Shell pitched five innings of three earned run ball, the unearned run coming on a Bobby Wilson passed ball.

The Bees had an opportunity to pull it out in the eighth when, following a Nick Gorneault walk, Morales walked and Gorneault reached third on a wild pitch. Terry Evans drove in Gorneault on a single just out of Sidewinders second baseman Matt Morgan's reach, but the inning eventually ended on a pair of strikeouts from Greg Porter and Tommy Murphy.

2007-08-17: Arkansas 12, Corpus Christi 3 #
Smith, Co: 2-4, 2 RBI, 2 BB

Kennard, J: (W, 2-0) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 2.70 ERA
A great game for the Travs, who have just been awful against Corpus Christi at home or on the road. Michael Collins paced Arkansas with six RBIs, including an eighth inning grand slam. Fernando Rodriguez, Jr. got the win, pitching six and a third innings of three-run ball.
2007-08-17: Rancho Cucamonga 5, Bakersfield 7 #
Statia: 1-4, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Infante: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K

Reilly: 1-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K

Mosebach: (L, 11-7), 5.0 IP, 6 R, 3 ER, 7 H, 5 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 4.28 ERA
Bobby Mosebach took his first loss in six starts (his last was July 16), mainly thanks to a Jordan Renz error on a routine flyball he dropped in right. Jeff Larue and Larry Infante both had solo homers in the loss. Quakes manager Bobby Mitchell was ejected in the fourth.

Madrigal: (S, 15), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 2.17 ERA
Hank Conger made his return from the DL without doing anything at the plate, though he did participate in an inning-ending 7-2 play in the third when Derek Schermerhorn tried to score from second on Wellington Castillo's would-be RBI single. He got Schermerhorn again on a fifth inning force when Marquez Smith grounded out to pitcher Amalio Diaz. Conger also made the final out of the sixth when he caught Ty Wright's foul pop.

Tommy Mendoza got the start but didn't last long enough to qualify for the win, posting his shortest start since a three-inning appearance on July 9. Barret Browning got the win in relief, his eighth of the year and his fifth straight appearance without allowing an earned run. Warner Madrigal got the save, his 15th, by striking out the side. It was his sixth straight game with a save where he made an appearance, and his 13th converted save opportunity in a row. Pretty good for a converted outfielder.
