Hey, Seattle! I Got Yer New GM Right Here! St. Louis Kicks Out Walt Jocketty
I've got a great solution for Seattle's GM chair, except that they already re-signed Bavasi. Walt Jocketty of the Cards has been shown the door according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
As GM, Jocketty fortified the roster with acquisitions such as Mark McGwire, Jim Edmonds, Edgar Renteria, Darryl Kile, Chris Carpenter, Scott Rolen, Woody Williams, Dennis Eckersley, Todd Stottlemyre, Fernando Vina, Adam Wainwright, Jason Marquis, Larry Walker, Will Clark and Jeff Weaver. But other than Weaver, who pitched well in the 2006 postseason, Jocketty has been unable to make high-impact acquisitions over the last two seasons.Cubs fans must be ecstatic.
