Roster Notes
- Kelvim Escobar is openly hoping A-Rod will be an Angel. I'm sure he dreams of run support at night. He's also going to see a knee specialist for his patellar tendinitis, hoping offseason rehab will fix his problems.
- So, for that matter, is Gary Matthews, Jr.
- Casey Kotchman was released from Anaheim Memorial Hospital after a 30-hour stay in which he took in five bags of intravenous fluids.
- Brandon Wood will play winter league ball in Mexico to focus on hitting breaking and offspeed pitches better.
- The Mariners won't pick up the 2008 options of Arthur Rhodes and Chris Reitsma.
- Mariano Rivera will test the free agency market this offseason.

Comments:
First, I like Casey Kotchman, but boy, he sure is a tin man. Out with mono for a year, out with a concussion for over a month, hand injury for two plus weeks, and then being admitted to the hospital during the playoffs.
As to the last episode, let's just say, it was witnessed, and he did not put up a very manly front. In fact, it was a bit on the, uh, "wussy" side- moaning and groaning.
I mean, it's a stomach bug, not ebola! However, the next day, he certainly perked up when an attractive nurse was assigned to him, only to get all nauseous and crampy after the game was over (Sunday).
I hope he steps it up next year, but his track record is not inspiring me, especially when the chips are down.

I have to admit to losing patience. With Kendry standing by and owning a better-than-advertised glove at first, his days might be numbered.
