Some Notes Regarding The (Almost) Ended Regular Season

Outside of tonight's sudden-death contest between San Diego and Colorado, the regular season is over, something decried by Shysterball; now it's eleven wins (twelve if you're the Pads or Rocks) to elation.

The Angels finished 94-68, their third-best finish in team history; their top three winning seasons have been this decade, and four of their top six. Looking at the team's collective .284/.345/.417 line in contrast with other Angels postseason-bound teams:

Relative to their competitors in the league, the Angels were fourth in runs scored with 822, and fifth in runs allowed (731, but ESPN ranks them backwards as 10th). Boston still has the best pitching in the league, and that's true whether you're looking at the bullpen or the starting rotation.

Boston vs. Angel pitching:

The majority of innings will be pitched by Beckett, Dice-K, Schilling vs. Lackey, Escobar, Weaver.

Advantage? Angels and that's why we are going to win it.
