Sweep, Or, Hello, Arizona: Rockies 2, Phillies 1
I have never seen a team get this insanely hot at the right time. The Rocks were in first place on April 6 and never again, and even as late as September 13, were in fourth place, with two teams to jump past for the Wild Card.
Ubaldo Jimenez was about as close to perfect as a rookie can be expected to be, while Jamie Moyer stalled his way to a fine performance, got off the hook for the loss by a Shane Victorino solo shot turned inconsequential by a Jeff Baker pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the 8th. Clint Hurdle has yet to pull the wrong lever anywhere, and now the Rockies, winning their first postseason series ever, go an unreal 17-1 over their last 18. Losing, to them, is a quaint relic of a distant past, and Cubs fans wonder who has to be paid off in order to get a fix of the pixy dust the purple and black team is flying on.

Jeebus, what a great line. And how was that received at the dinner table, my friend?
As a Dodger fan, I keep complaining about how we haven't won since '88 and I have friends of mine who are Phillies and Cubs fans and they want to throw rocks at me for complaining. Can't say as I blame them.
