Angels Sign Jesse Hoorelbeke

The Angels signed 1B Jesse Hoorelbeke, who had previously been in the Dodgers' system as recently as 2004. He was playing in indy ball with the Bridgeport Bluefins of the Atlantic League.

I don't really understand this. It seems that if they were looking for depth at 1B in the minors, then Greg Porter would be a better option.

It's the Bridgeport Bluefish, by the way, not fins.

Haven't seen Porter play, but I've seen Jesse Hoorelbeke and this kid has legitimate pop in his bat. His glove is a bit iffy, but offensively, he has some possibility.

Hoorelbeke was the 2007 player of the year in the Atlantic League due to his bat and non-iffy glove.

This is great, Jesse has mega power and knows how to swing a bat. He has set records and led his leagues the past two years. Have you ever seen him play first?? AMAZING!!! Just look at the stats!
