Dodgers Call Up Brazoban, Other Roster Notes
- The Dodgers (almost wrote Codgers — a Freudian typo? Pleeease don't sign Edmonds, Ned!) have called up Yhency Brazoban from AAA Las Vegas. Catcher A.J. Ellis was moved from Las Vegas to single-A Ogden, and INF Rex Rundgren was moved back to Las Vegas. (Funny, I don't remember Rex moving... h/t Dodgers49 in today's DT thread.)
- Alleged Mariners slugger Richie Sexson has been suspended six games for his role in yesterday's brawl. Sexson has already appealed the ruling.
- The Blue Jays signed Brad Wilkerson, recently released by the M's.
- The Rangers traded OF Kevin Mench for cash considerations. The 30-year-old was with the team's AAA Oklahoma squad after failing to make the major league club out of spring training as a non-roster invitee.
- Update: John Lackey pitched in extended spring training, with positive results.
"He maintained his stuff the whole way," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said before Friday night's game against Tampa Bay. "His workout today was what we were looking for."
