Windy City: Cubs 10, Rockies 9
The Cubs and Rockies were locked in a slugfest with a 15 MPH wind blowing out to center at Wrigley, the Cubbies ascending from early 8-0 and 9-1 deficits to win it. No doubt that wind had a lot to do with the six home runs hit between the two sides in this game. The Cubs ended up on the right side of the ledger, and surprisingly, Jim Edmonds turned out to be one of the game's two offensive heros, cashing in three on a home run and an RBI double. (The last time Jimmy Hollywood drove in three was Sept. 28, 2007 against the Pirates.) Mark DeRosa nailed three himself, including the game-winning two-run shot.
The bad news for Cubs fans is that this will probably prolong Edmonds' inclusion in the Cubs lineup, and give Hendry more excuses to keep Felix Pie at AAA Iowa.
