Mariners Fire GM Bill Bavasi
Cue the dancing girls at USSM (which is surprisingly conciliatory about it, saying "he’s a really good person and it was our pleasure to host him at several USSM events in the past few years") and Lookout Landing: the Mariners have fired GM Bill Bavasi. My own selfish reaction is that it's too bad one of Angels' opponents might end up with a competent GM, but it's also true that if you have lousy competition, your chances of surviving the postseason go down, too.
