2008-06-08: Salt Lake 6, Colorado Springs 3 #
Walker, C: 3-5, 1 K
Brown, D: 2-5, 1 2B, 4 RBI
Moseley: (W, 2-2), 7.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 5.83 ERA
O'Day: (S, 4), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 3.63 ERA
An easy win for Moseley, who cruised through seven despite an amazingly low two strikeouts thanks to an offense that got him six runs against Mark Redman, whom I remembered as a major leaguer, but apparently Colorado had a clause written into his contract allowing them to option him to the minors in case he was teh suck. Darren O'Day picked up the save, his fourth.

2008-06-08: Arkansas 7, Springfield 9 (10 innings) #
Sutton: 0-3, 2 BB, 1 K
Czarniecki: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 K
Stavisky: 2-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Walker: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Ortiz, W: 2-5, 1 RBI
Butcher: 7.0 IP, 4 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 4.26 ERA
Rodriguez, Fr: (BS, 1), 2.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 3.25 ERA
Marek: (BS, 4)(L, 1-3) (in relief), 0.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 3.33 ERA
The Travs held Springfield down 6-2 going into the bottom of the eighth, but Francisco Rodriguez gave up his first blown save of the year when he gave up a bases-loaded walk and a scoring sac fly in the bottom of the eighth and a two-run jack to Jon Jay in the bottom of the ninth to tie it. The Travs untied it in the top of the tenth on Brian Stavisky's leadoff homer, but Stephen Marek gave up a walkoff three-run homer to Tyler Greene to finish things. A really bad game for the Arkansas bullpen.

Phillips: 3-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Trumbo: 0-4, 1 K
Conger: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 K
Infante: 0-2, 2 BB
Rosario, Al: 2-3
O'Sullivan: (W, 7-4), 7.1 IP, 5 R, 5 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 2 HR, 6.25 ERA
Browning: (H, 5), 0.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 4.11 ERA
Cook: (S, 3), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 3.04 ERA
Rancho led early 1-0 after the first and 4-0 after the third; the third even saw catcher Hank Conger steal second off the battery of LHP James Adkins (!) and C Al Rosario, Conger's first swipe of the year. Adkins was brutalized for all six Quakes run; Thomas Giles' three-run jack in the top of the fourth capped a four-run fourth and was the offensive highlight of the game for Inland Empire, but the offense wasn't quite up to the task.

Sean O'Sullivan didn't pitch well but he got the win anyway, his third straight decision in as many starts. 66ers starter James Adkins got chased after 3.2 innings, and took the loss.

McKiernan: (S, 2), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 4.50 ERA
A 13-MPH wind to left aided scoring in this one, as evidenced by the four homers hit on both sides, three by the Kernels, who scored in crooked numbers in each of the first four innings. Robert Fish got his fourth win (and this third straight) despite a pretty weak line.
