Scores

2008-06-10: Tacoma 4, Salt Lake 7 #
Figgins: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Brown, M: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Loux: (W, 8-3), 7.2 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 4.26 ERA
Jepsen: (S, 1), 1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
The Bees scored four in the bottom of the first to make a Statement, and while it was Tim Duff's scoring groundout in the fifth and a Matt Brown homer (his 15th of the season) in the sixth that decided it, the Bees held the lead all the way in this one. Chone Figgins walked twice as the leadoff batter; Shane Loux got his eighth win, giving up four runs, one unearned thanks to a Christopher Walker fielding error in the second. Kevin Jepson got his first save of the season in his AAA debut, striking out three in an inning and a third.
2008-06-10: Arkansas 1, Springfield 3 #
Sutton: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 K
Czarniecki: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Johnson: 2-4, 1 RBI
Walker: 2-4, 1 2B
Ortega: (L, 6-4), 6.2 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 3 K, 3 BB, 1 HR, 3.82 ERA
Rodriguez, R: 0.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 2.16 ERA
The Travs tied this one in the sixth on Ben Johnson's RBI single, but Anthony Ortega gave up a two-run jack in the bottom of the frame to lose it.
2008-06-10: Rancho Cucamonga 7, High Desert 17 #
Norman: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Mount: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Conger: 2-5, 1 2B, 4 RBI, 1 K
Trumbo: 0-5, 1 RBI
Nieves: 0-2, 2 BB
Phillips: 0-4
Bell: (L, 5-6), 4.0 IP, 13 R, 12 ER, 11 H, 4 K, 5 BB, 2 HR, 5.08 ERA
Albano: 2.0 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 5.85 ERA
Cook: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 2.81 ERA
A 30 MPH wind — why did they let this one even start? — and the rest was pretty predictable, as there were a combined four homers in this game, three for the Mavericks, and even that sounds low. High Desert scored in each of the game's first six frames and in crooked numbers in five of them, putting up a seven run fifth that included a leadoff homer, a scoring balk, and a tally on a passed ball by catcher Ivan Villaescusa (well, escusa me!). Villaescusa, playing in his third game of the season for Rancho, also allowed a run to score on a throwing error following a stolen base attempt by Kuo Hui Lo in the fourth. Both sides made two errors, and it seemed to be that kind of a game. Trevor Bell gave up 13 runs, 12 of which were earned.
2008-06-10: Cedar Rapids 2, Beloit 4 #
Fuller: 1-4, 1 K
Moore: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 K
Perez: 0-2, 2 BB
Romine: 1-4, 2 K
De Los Santos: 0-4, 3 K
Anton: (L, 7-4), 5.2 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 7 H, 8 K, 4 BB, 2.40 ERA
Ford: 1.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Michael Anton took the loss but wasn't terrible; he pitched five scoreless frames in succession but gave up four in the sixth. The Quakes got two back in the top of the ninth and threatened for more when they had the bases loaded with nobody out, but Beloit struck out the side thereafter to end the threat.
2008-06-10: Orem did not play
2008-06-10: AZL Angels did not play
2008-06-10: Portland 8, Las Vegas 14 #
Repko: 3-6, 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 RBI
Chavez, A: 2-6, 2 RBI, 1 K
Paul: 1-5, 1 BB, 2 K
Jacobs: 2-3, 2 BB
Griffin: 2-5, 1 K
Garcia, S: 3-5, 2 2B, 3 RBI
Ellis: 2-4, 1 3B, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Lizarraga: 0-3, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Orenduff, J: 1-1
Miller: 1-1
Orenduff, J: 5.0 IP, 6 R, 6 ER, 9 H, 4 K, 4 BB, 2 HR, 5.50 ERA
Jones, G: (W, 3-3) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 5.02 ERA
Miller: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 4.99 ERA
Troncoso: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 5.92 ERA
99 degree gametime temperatures and an 18 MPH wind out to center made sure this would be a high scoring game. The 51's scored 13 in the bottom of the sixth that sent 17 batters to the plate and saw Las Vegas get four extra base hits (none of them a home run, two doubles and two triples) and walk three times, including a bases-loaded walk by A.J. Ellis; pinch-hitter John Lindsey got two at-bats in the frame hitting for pitcher Greg Jones. Portland used three pitchers to get out of the frame, an epic collapse.

Kerwin Danley, who was hit by a Brad Penny pitch on April 27 and had to be carted off the field, umpired second base. On June 6, Danley had a painful flashback as he got clocked by a warmup pitch in another Las Vegas game.

2008-06-10: Jacksonville 9, Carolina 5 #
Hoffmann: 1-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI
May: 0-5, 3 K
Bellhorn: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Berezay: 2-4, 2 2B, 1 K
Castillo, J: (W, 4-3), 6.2 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 3.33 ERA
Elbert: 1.1 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 6.75 ERA
Jacksonville scored six in the top of the first, three on Jamie Hoffman's three-run jack, and never surrendered the lead. Jesus Castillo picked up his fourth win, his last being on May 25.
2008-06-10: Lake Elsinore 1, Inland Empire 10 #
Rogowski: 2-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Santana, C: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 K
Locke: 2-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI
Giles: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Wall: (W, 5-3), 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 5 BB, 5.55 ERA
Another game in a windy park (12 MPH left-to-right, making conditions difficult at least for fielding), the game didn't really get out of hand until the fourth when Drew Miller pitched to six batters without retiring a one; six runners crossed the plate that frame, putting an exclamation point on the game.

Josh Wall somehow pitched six scoreless innings despite walking five and only striking out two; the secret was a two-hitter.

2008-06-10: Great Lakes 2, South Bend 13 #
Kanaby: 2-4, 1 RBI
Lambo: 0-3, 1 BB
Silverio: 0-4
Mattingly: 1-4, 2 K
Baez: 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 K
Becker: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 K
Smit: (L, 1-4), 4.0 IP, 5 R, 4 ER, 4 H, 1 K, 5 BB, 6.28 ERA
Dutton: 2.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 5.20 ERA
13 MPH winds contributed to South Bend's nine-run fifth. Just a crummy game overall for the Loons, who find themselves only a half game out of the Eastern division cellar.
2008-06-10: Ogden did not play
2008-06-10: GCL Dodgers did not play
