Jorge Posada Hits The 15-Day DL, Jose Molina Becomes Yanks' Starting Catcher
Jorge Posada's shoulder labrum issues became too great for him to continue playing, and he will hit the 15-day DL, presumably replaced by Jose Molina as the team's starting catcher in the interim with Chad Moeller as his backup. Posada has started a rehab course, but if he needs surgery, he needs to have it done as soon as possible or else he will likely miss a large part of 2009 as well; if he does have the surgery, his 2008 is over and the Yanks will likely pick up a new reserve catcher.
