- It's official: the Dodgers will not play spring training games in Vero Beach for 2009. Baltimore is expected to move into the Dodgers' former facilities.
- Clayton Kershaw leads Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects list at midseason. Also making various related lists are Chin-Lung Hu, Andy LaRoche, Scott Elbert, and James McDonald for the Dodgers, and Jordan Walden, Hank Conger, Brandon Wood, Nick Adenhart, and Peter Bourjos for the Angels.
