2008-07-17: Salt Lake did not play
2008-07-17: Arkansas 4, NW Arkansas 9 #
De Los Santos: 1-3, 2 K
Pettit: 0-3
Stavisky: 3-4, 1 RBI
Mosebach: (L, 8-8), 6.2 IP, 8 R, 3 ER, 12 H, 1 K, 3 BB, 4.82 ERA
Five unearned runs were only the beginning of this embarrassment of a game that featured five errors by the Travs, three in the five-run seventh. Just an awful game for the Travs, who drop to 43-53 on the season with the sweep.

Bourjos: 2-5, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Mount: 2-3, 2 2B, 1 BB
Conger: 2-4, 2 HR, 6 RBI
Trumbo: 0-4, 1 K
Phillips: 3-4
Rosario, Al: 2-4, 2 RBI
O'Sullivan: (W, 11-4), 7.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 5.33 ERA
Rembisz: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 1 BB, 4.15 ERA
Hank Conger makes up for lost time in this one by pounding out two more dingers, one a grand slam, and racking up a career high six RBIs. If five homers in two days isn't enough to get him named Offensive Player of the Week, I'd like to know the reason why.

Sean O'Sullivan pitched a fine game, going seven but minus the strikeouts you'd like to see at this level. Bryan Rembisz went the last two innings and pitched zero frames in both.

Lopez: 1-2, 3 BB
Jimenez: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K

Plefka: 3.0 IP, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 9.00 ERA
Kohn: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 7 K, 0 BB, 2.25 ERA
Starter Buddy Boshers faced one batter, got drilled and was replaced for precautionary reasons. The bullpen picked up the slack and held the Voyagers to five runs. A very sloppy game with seven errors between the two sides, but Great Falls was most hurt as four unearned runs crossed the plate. Great Falls also got an unearned run from catcher Beau Brooks' bad throw that allowed a double steal of home and second in the first inning.

Elbert: (H, 4), 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 2.42 ERA
A very nice game by Clayton Kershaw, though you certainly would have liked to have seen more strikeouts and more innings. The four-run eighth was pretty wild, starting with a leadoff homer by Juan Gonzalez and including a scoring hit-by-pitch by Jamie Hoffman.

Wow, why is 24-year-old Victor Garate pitching for the low-A Loons? Anyway, not surprising he's dominating at this level. Preston Mattingly had a good game, too.
