Salvaging A Win: Dodgers 9, Marlins 1
With the Fish sending up their worst pitcher, and keeping their starting shortstop Hanley Ramirez off the field due to a sore shoulder, the results were somewhat predictable, and so the Dodgers got a win to salvage something out of this series. It's the first series the Dodgers have lost out of their last five.
Chad Billingsley was terrific, fanning 13 Florida batters, a career mark, and allowing the game's only run over seven frames. Matt Kemp went 3-for-4, the fifth time this year he's had three hits in one game. Thanks to a 6-3 Arizona loss to the Phillies, the Dodgers go into the break a game out of first at 46-49.
