Minor League Scorebook

2008-07-31: Salt Lake 3, Omaha 13 #
Rodriguez, S: 0-4, 3 K
Sandoval, F: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 K
Morales: 2-4, 1 K
Wood: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Pavkovich: 2-4, 1 K
Johnson, Be: 2-4, 1 RBI
Alvarado, C: 5.0 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 6 K, 0 BB, 3.94 ERA
Kennard, J: (L, 4-3) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 6 R, 6 ER, 5 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 2 HR, 7.38 ERA
Salt Lake never led in this one; the offense only managed to tie it 3-3 after five and a half on a Brandon Wood double and a Ben Johnson single. Giancarlo Alvarado got a no-decision for a not-quite-quality start but a decent effort anyway.
2008-07-31: Springfield 7, Arkansas 0 #
Trumbo: 0-4, 3 K
Pettit: 0-4, 1 K
Rodriguez, Fe: (L, 5-10), 4.2 IP, 7 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 3 K, 4 BB, 6.02 ERA

Rodriguez, R: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 2.43 ERA
Springfield's Justin Fiske and Luke Gregorson four-hit the Travs in a shutout. Fernando and Rafael Rodriguez both made appearances in this game, with Fernando taking the loss; it was Fernando's sixth loss in his last seven starts. Mark Trumbo had his first 0-fer day in a Travs uniform.
2008-07-31: Rancho Cucamonga 2, San Jose 8 #
Phillips: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K
Conger: 1-4

Bell: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 1 BB, 4.67 ERA
Michael Anton had another poor showing after rolling out three straight wins in as many quality starts. Though he got his fourth loss here, it was the first time since his promotion to Rancho that he was chased as early as the third; the home run he gave up in the six-run third was a grand slam to Brett Pill. The rest of the pitching staff held up very well and posted zeros.

The 51's got out to an early 4-0 lead on John Lindsey's RBI single in the second; that was the end of the 51's scoring, and despite late rallies by the RedHawks against starter Eric Stults, was all they needed.
