More Games
- Tampa Bay beat the holy snot out of the Mariners 11-3, failing to score in only two innings against starter R.A. Dickey and a random collection of relievers. The M's won only one of their four-game set, and fell to 45-73 after today's loss, still the worst record in the league. With the win, the Rays set a franchise record for victories; they had never hit more than 70 in any single season before.
- Boston fell to the Chisox 6-5; combined with a 5-4 Kansas City win over the Twins, the Pale Hose regain first place in the AL Central.
- Arizona beat the Braves 6-1 behind Brandon Webb, who goes 17-4 on the season. The Snakes end the series where they started, 1.5 games ahead of the Dodgers and two games over .500.
- Those who were predicting great things for Livan Hernandez in the Mile High City, rejoice: he got beaten like a piñata in his first outing at elevation, with the lowly Padres shaking him down for nine runs in only 2.2 innings; 16-7 final.
