More Roster Notes
- Orioles starting CF Adam Jones was placed on the 15-day DL with a broken left foot. The O's called up Luis Montanez from AA Bowie to take his place.
- Despite reports earlier in the day that the Mariners were not converting Brandon Morrow to a starter in the minors, the team announced today that it will do exactly that, optioning Morrow to AAA Tacoma. RHP Jared Wells was called up to take Morrow's place in the bullpen.
- Seattle also DFA'd slap-hitting DH Jose Vidro and called up OF Wladimir Balentien from AAA Tacoma.
- The Yankees still aren't saying anything about Joba Chamberlain's MRI results; he's going to see Dr. James Andrews to get his shoulder evaluated, and that can't be a good thing.
- Ken Rosenthal writes the Rockies have "won" the waiver claim on Livan Hernandez.
- Dan Haren has signed a contract extension with the Diamondbacks, a four-year, $44.75 million contract that runs through the 2012 season with a club option for 2013.
