Mariners To Shut Down Beltre Following Angels Series
The Mariners will shut down Adrian Beltre for the season following the Angels series. The Seattle third baseman will have surgery on his left hand to repair a torn ligament, and another surgery to repair an impingement in his left shoulder. The Scott Boras client is entering the final year of a five-year deal with the M's, and will make $12M in 2009.
