Thoughts On The 2009 Angels Select-A-Seat
- We arrived at 10:00 for a 10:15 appointment. This year, they're allowing people to acquire up to eight seats (extending their existing holdings) on a temporary basis, which probably reflects the good market for Angels tickets these days, as well as the bad economy.
- Most of the seats we saw were at field level near the third base line inside the foul poles, and in the terrace level outfield. There wasn't much anywhere else; I expect if there were any seats between the lines, they were snapped up much earlier. Given the paucity of choice, we elected to keep our seats this year.
- Taking a cue from the McCourts, the Angels will be carving a new set of seats out of foul territory, though much smaller in scope. To sell them, there's going to be new set of mini-game-plans, which the staff gave us information on that did not include price.
