An Interesting Graph

Found here: The mystery player is Manny Ramirez.

not *exactly* sure why it's interesting - it's not WAR against time? And Manny is pretty consistent, having 10 different (non-sequential) seasons between 4 and 6, and just four seasons below 4.

I can't quite remember how WAR works, but I'm pretty sure that if you have an injury plagued season, you'd get low WAR? He's had one or two seasons over the years with injuries....and rookie seasons etc?

I'm not worried, personally.

And, to illustrate, here's the table of his WAR for each season:

http://www.baseballprojection.com/war/r/ramim002.htm

His 2 of the 3 lowest were his first 2 seasons in the majors (93 and 94). 2007 was one of those low seasons, but I think it's fair to say he's hardly on a steep decline.

Actually, the x axis isn't even time -- it's "nth best year", which means the right hand side might be his rookie season. But I would be willing to bet that he's not as bad as this makes it out to be... the link you provided upthread had a WAR in the neighborhood of 5, which says he'll likely be just fine this year, barring an Andruw Jones dropoff.
