Next Time, Try Pitching Better: Giants 5, Dodgers 4
Barry Zito was remarkable through six, displaying his old, nearly-forgotten form from when he was a Cy Young candidate; the Dodgers got to him in the seventh, scoring four to take the lead, two of those on a Casey Blake homer. But as Jon mentioned yesterday, the big question mark was why Ronald Belisario was pitching to end the game in the ninth. Belisario was floundering almost from the beginning of that frame, and that included a crazy attempt to flip a ball to the plate (which didn't work, and cost him an out besides). Now we know what Yankees fans have endured when they talk about Torre's odd bullpen utilization.
