Angels On The Right End Of A Blowout: Angels 11, Rockies 3
Getting six out of starter Jason Marquis in the first two innings, the Angels never looked back, only surrendering their first run to the opposition in the seventh, on a Garrett Atkins solo blast. The Angels, meantime, had
- scored three runs in a two out scenario in the first
- got two runs off Vlad's first homer in forever in the second, making it 6-0 (in fact, Vlad's second extra-base hit of the game, for he doubled in the first)
- cashed in a Todd Helton error in the fourth, and even scored on a wild pitch by reliever Josh Fogg (starter Marquis having been chased after three and a third)
Bobby Abreu cashed in a pair on a two-run jack in the eighth, Joe Saunders was brilliant through most of his six innings of work, and the Angels racked up an easy win over Colorado, a red-hot team prior to this series. What else could you ask for?
