Weaver Completely Awesome: Angels 6, Padres 0
I wonder if, now, Bud Black will hold an all-hands, closed-door meeting. Helen suggested something special might happen with a team whose offense is as bad as the Padres' and Weaver on the mound, and sure enough. It started out badly: I broke out the tickets from the season ticket book, but for yesterday's game (which I didn't attend). It ended with Jered Weaver throwing his first complete game shutout on 119 pitches.
Chris Young didn't make it out of the third, the Padres offense never scored a run, and Juan Rivera's two homers by themselves were enough to get the job done.
Good show, boys. Mo dat, please.
