Cubbies Annihilate Pirates: Cubs 17, Pirates 2

The Cubs sent Pirates starter Charlie Morton to the showers after giving up four runs in the first, and topped that by scoring ten runs in the second inning against former Angel reliever Chris Bootcheck. It's now 17-2 Cubs after a bases-clearing Derrek Lee double in the fourth, and the Cubstitutions have started, with Lee and Alfonso Soriano pulled from the game. Lee's seven RBIs tied a career record set earlier in the year in a a 9-5 drubbing of the Brewers on July 2.

Update: Neither side scored again, though the Cubs managed to strand seven baserunners, including leaving the bases loaded in the seventh. 17-2 Cubs, final.
