Minor League Scorebook
News
- Things are starting to wrap up rather rapidly, as the Angels' Arkansas team played its final game of the season, as did most of the other teams. I missed the AZL season coming to an end a few weeks ago; the AZL Angels qualified for the playoffs but were knocked off by the Giants. Salt Lake and Arkansas were eliminated earlier in the week and played out the string today. Orem also made the postseason, as we shall see below ...
- Dillon Baird made the Pioneer League All-Star game, and Tom Kotchman got the nod as the Manager of the Year for taking the Orem franchise to its ninth consecutive postseason appearance.
- The Kernels will host their first postseason home game on September 10th.
- On the Dodgers side of things, Albuquerque clinched the PCL American Southern division with manager Tim Wallach earning a Manager of the Year nod. Insofar as I can tell, all the other teams didn't make it.

2009-09-07: AZL Dodgers did not play
Labels: minors
Comments:
The Great Lakes Loons are into the Midwest League playoffs, having come second in the Eastern Division (.579). They did pretty well. with some recent blowout scores. There was an article a few days ago where the teams management confirmed that the Dodgers management had honored their promise to let good players play out the season there rather than get moved around to other teams in the organization.
