- Beyond The Boxscore has its preliminary 2011 defensive catcher ratings out. Hank Conger and Rod Barajas are both in the upper half, while Jeff Mathis is one of the worst, as is (surprisingly) ex-Dodger, current Yankee Russell Martin. #1? Baltimore's Matt Wieters.

- Maury Brown says the Astros sale is down to the details, and should complete soon. Jim Crane will buy the club for $680 million.
