2008-06-01: Salt Lake 6, Tacoma 4 #
Morales: 1-3, 1 BB
Sandoval, F: 1-3, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 BB
Pavkovich: 0-2, 2 BB
Brown, D: 1-2, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Adenhart: (W, 5-3), 6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 8 H, 4 K, 2 BB, 3.02 ERA
O'Day: 2.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 3.38 ERA
Bulger: (S, 2), 0.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 1.32 ERA
Ending a streak of three straight losses since his return from the big club, Nick Adenhart finally pulled it together for a win. Darren O'Day, who earned a win with his previous appearance on May 25, gave up two earned runs and was replaced after the first out of the ninth by Jason Bulger, who is quietly getting it done in Salt Lake with a very shiny 1.32 ERA, earning his second save of the season.

Freddie Sandoval's three-run homer in the fifth was the offensive highlight of the game, and capped scoring for the Bees, have won four of their last five, and still have the best record in the PCL (though Sacramento at 36-21 is catching up in the record department).

Fuller: 0-4, 1 BB, 2 K
Romine: 2-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Brossman: 1-5, 4 K
Gronkowski: 2-3, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Reckling: 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K, 5 BB, 3.02 ERA
McKiernan: (L, 0-3) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 4.85 ERA
A scoreless tie through six, the Cougars put three runs on the board in the seventh after Trevor Reckling left the mound and Eddie McKiernin allowed a two-out homer to Larry Cobb, only his second all year. The Kernels put up a fight in the ninth to come within two, posting a pair on Efren Navarro's two-out RBI single, but it wasn't enough.

Chavez, A: 2-5, 1 RBI, 3 K
LaRoche: 1-5, 1 RBI, 2 K
Lindsey: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Repko: 1-4

Miller: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 0 BB, 5.54 ERA
Brazoban: 1.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 12.91 ERA
51's pitching just plain got knocked around, none more so than starter Jason Johnson. Johnson was respectable through four, but surrendered four runs including two homers in the fifth. Yhency Brazoban has been just awful since returning to the minors, and has had four straight games in which he's given up one or more earned runs, something his ERA reflects.

John Lindsey homered in the loss.
