Angels Return Escobar To The Bullpen
Well, that's a relief. On the other hand, the reason for it is Escobar has a sore shoulder and won't be available to pitch until next week.
Comments:
Sadly, I don't think it will make a difference. John Lackey is still not healthy, so he'll either be back on the DL soon enough, or he'll continue to pitch, albeit ineffectively (Lackey's fastball was hovering between 88-90; when healthy, he's 91-95). Santana isn't right, either, although he has a bit more life on his pitches. So, they've still got a depleted rotation, an ineffective pen, and a sputtering offense. I still expect Texas to fade, and the Angels could still win the division, but they aren't going anywhere this year. Now watch them pull off an '88 Dodgers run.
