The Love, The Love: Angels 1, Twins 0
After yesterday's horrible outing (is there another kind) by Ramon Ortiz, the Angels needed a good start by somebody, and unfortunately, Escobar having buggered up his fingernail, left Sele to start.
Over at Pearly Gates, Richard is fulminating, but after watching Figgy slap in the winning run, I don't care. Sure, Mike could have let Sele go longer, but I'm happy with the outcome, and besides, I'm worried about Sele's shoulder. And yes, bonehead maneuver letting Figgy face a lefty.
And how about Percy's save?
- Corey Koskie: first pitch groundout, 3-1. Ersty misses this one and they're in immediate trouble, but he scrapes it up after a brief bobble and Percy covers the bag for the out. Whew!
- Torii Hunter:
- Curveball strike
- Fastball strike -- 99 mph! Where did he get that velocity?
- Fastball, swinging strike
- Jacque Jones:
- Fastball strike
- Fastball strike
- Fastball, ball 1
- Curveball, swinging strike
Yeah, baby! The last two outs were pitch palindromes!
